Kim, Tim and their right-hand dog
Our love of dogs began over a decade ago when we started breeding Labradors. Belmol Labradors was where our passion first grew, and although we have since retired from breeding, our love for dogs has never faded.
When we thought about what we would want for Ollie while we were away, the answer was simple: a place where he would feel safe, loved and happy — somewhere he could have fun, enjoy plenty of playtime and make new friends.
That’s how Big Dog Farm Stay came to life.
Big Dog Farm Stay is our home, and we’ve created it to be a holiday destination for dogs, too. While their families are enjoying their own time away, their beloved four-legged family members can enjoy a holiday of their own — filled with space to explore, games, cuddles, companionship and plenty of love.
Every dog who stays with us is treated like one of our own. We keep our numbers small so each guest receives plenty of individual attention and feels comfortable, relaxed and truly spoilt.
We’re Kim and Tim, and you’ll usually find us out in the paddock, down at the beach or enjoying a coffee in the sunshine at Laurieton, with a few very happy dogs at our feet.
MEET OUR 2IC
Chief Welcome Officer
Ollie
Ollie is our 2IC, and he takes the job very seriously. Meet and greet is his department, and he has never once called in sick.
Ollie is the welcoming party. Every new arrival is met in the welcome yard, where Ollie spends time with them one-on-one — a slow sniff, a gentle hello, a lap of the fence line — until the new guest has worked out that this place is safe, friendly and full of fun. Only when Ollie says everyone's comfortable does the introduction to the wider pack begin.
Of course, if you're a return visitor, you can bypass the welcome yard altogether. Returning guests get the real VIP service — straight through the gate to join the pack, tails already going, holiday already started.
It's a small thing, but it's the thing we're proudest of. No stressful drop-offs. No dog thrown into the deep end. Just a very good boy in a green bandana, making sure everyone feels at home.
